Getting thereCar – Off Sir Bertram Stevens drive in the Royal National Park. The carpark is the first turn after crossing Audley Wier. This is in Dharawal Country.

If you have decent suspension on your pram, a walk down Lady Carrington Drive in the Royal National Park is a great little adventure for you and bub. Or simply stroll around Audley Village and grab a coffee or lunch for a less bumpy excursion into the bush.

The long

Access

This walk is in the Royal National Park, NSW. Park your car at Audley Village carpark. On weekends this can fill up quickly, however there is overflow parking south of the village, follow the signs. Note there is a $12 entry fee to the park.

The trail

This adventure starts and ends at Audley Village. There are a number of picnic tables and chairs if you need to sit and feed bub. The Audley Dance Hall cafe is also here if you need breakkie or lunch and is a great bush cafe worthy of it’s own write up. Just be mindful of the swooping kookaburras if you’re feeding bub at the cafe!

Once you’re ready, head south along the asphalt shared path, past Varney’s bridge and the Willow tree picnic area, until you get to the gate and sign at the start of the Lady Carrington Drive trail.

Once you pass the gate, the trail becomes rocky. If you’re not comfortable with the suspension on your pram, turn around here. Otherwise continue bumping along the trail for about 400m until you reach Gibraltar Rock. There are beautiful views to the Hawksbury River and across to Wattle Forrest Picnic Area.

There is a picnic table underneath the rock overhang at Gibraltar Rock if you want to stop for a break before returning the same way.

Note this trail can be busy with bike riders on the weekend.
